VOLUNTEER RECEPTIONIST/ADMIN ASSISTANT – HOSPITAL
Do you like meeting new people, helping others and creating a friendly environment where people feel welcome? Can you remain calm under pressure, multi-task and keep a busy reception desk running efficiently and smoothly? We are looking for committed volunteers to assist our receptionists in our wildlife hospital.
Our receptionists are often the first point of contact that members of the public have with Cuan, so creating a great first impression is essential. The reception area is the busy hub of our hospital, welcoming members of the public, staff and volunteers, and other visitors to the site. They are also the central point for questions and queries, in person and over the phone, so you will need to be friendly, patient and helpful, whilst developing knowledge to help with diverse enquiries.
As part of creating a great first impression, our reception area needs to kept clean and tidy, with stocks of leaflets available and notices kept up to date. You will be required to carry out general administration tasks, such as filing and photocopying. You may receive donations over the counter, such as cash, food or bedding. You’ll need to be comfortable using a phone and computer system, but don’t worry we’ll show you how, and also be comfortable talking to people from all parts of the community. There will be no animal handling involved in this role, just a strong desire to provide the best service to our customers.
You might be looking for something to add experience to your CV, or to keep busy and meet new people, or just donate your time and skills to help animals in need. If you love working with the public and think you’ve got what it takes to be the face of Cuan, this may be the role for you.
If this is something you would be interested in, please download the application form below and return it to us at the hospital or email it to cuanwildlife@gmail.com
